Hey Reader!

When I first started talking about and teaching people how to write a book with the Heroine's Journey, in the back of my mind, I kept wondering:

"I think I'm right... but am I really right?"

All my research was saying yes. All my analysis was saying yes. All the people using it and creating great books from it—that was saying yes, too.

But I still felt nervous about it.

Getting up and talking about it felt a lot like having to do a presentation in front of my grad school Stats class—something that I still felt terrified of doing, even at that age. I think it was that Stats class, in fact, that helped me overcome my crippling stage fright. It went so horrifically, unequivocally, historically, tragically badly... that I realized I just couldn't do any worse.

We could only go up from there.

And I realized I didn't need everyone in the room to agree with me. I just needed to agree with me—to believe in me and to know that it was helping people.

And that was enough.

Writing a book means doing the same thing: putting what you actually think in print, with your name on it. Helping business owners get comfortable doing that is a big part of why (and how) I do this work—because writing a book this way not only leaves you with a Damn Good Book; it also helps you become so much better at what you're already good at.
